Mr. Richard A. McDonough received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Temple University in 1981. While working as a Business Reporter at KAKE-TV in Wichita, KS, he created the Hotels/Motels In Partnership Program in 1982. During the next seven years, Mr. McDonough continued his volunteer efforts for emergency housing and feeding programs while working in the advertising research and the real estate research markets.
Mr. McDonough was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Hotels/Motels In Partnership Inc. in 1989. He has served in that capacity as the non-profit corporation became America Responds With Love and as the programs of the organization expanded to help additional people truly in need.
Through Mr. McDonough's innovative website (www.RespondWithLove.org), donors are able to pick a specific gift to be used by a specific group of people truly in need in a specific region of the United States. Donors are able to pick the way in which they want to contribute--by check, by money order, or by credit card. They can even donate anonymously. In most cases, donors are able to track their donation--from an acknowledgement that money has been received to a thank you note indicating who specifically used the donation. Donors are not contacted by direct mail or telemarketing. If donors choose to be contacted for future needs, donors are updated through e-mail. Donors must ask to be included in any e-mail solicitation list.
